Piecing It Together

Hello Friends! How has your summer been going? Ours has been going pretty good. It’s been filled mostly with working hard during the week and spending our weekends working in the yard, working on projects and yard saling just about every Saturday.

The thing I love most about yard saling is that you never know what you’re going to find…or need…or think you need until you find it. Haha

One Saturday while out treasure hunting, I came across this cute wooden carved pedestal.

It was chunky and scuffy and had such cute little curves. I totally knew that I needed it if the price was right even though I wasn’t sure what I would do with it at that point. It cost me a whole whopping $5! Sold!!!

It sat in my stash of “stuff to work on” until one day I decided to redo my front porch. I’ve been on a gradual clean out binge, getting rid of things that I’m not absolutely in love with. In doing so, I got rid of a table on my front porch that I wasn’t totally loving and wanted to replace it with one that I liked better. I decided to make a chunky little table out of that cute little pedestal.

After quick trip to Home Depot,  we bought a pre-made circular wooden top.

1 in. x 2 ft. x 2 ft. Pine Edge Glued Panel Round Board

Did you know that they only cost around $10? We couldn’t have made it any cheaper! And if truth be told, it probably wouldn’t have turned out round either.

We attached it to the pedestal and gave it a couple of coats of Minwax Weathered Oak stain and called it done!

I love the wood knots on the top!!!

The total cost was around $15. Not too bad if I say so myself!

What do you think? Do you like junking? Do you buy with a plan or just purchase what you like?

Thanks for stopping by! As always, I appreciate each and every one of you that take the time visit my blog!

Love,
