Cutting A Rug

Hello Peeps! What’s new on your end? Things are moving along on this end? Spring has sprung and we’ve been busy doing all of the things that need to be done in the spring…well, some of the things. The list never ends.

Do you know what wasn’t on my list of things to do? Get a new rug. Do you know what I did? Yep, I got a new rug. Actually, it was on my list of things to do but not necessarily right now. It’s one of those things that I knew I needed and wanted to do but it wasn’t on my “do now” list however if you find one that you like, you should probably get it…at least that was my reasoning…

I took a trip to Home Goods with my mom for no other reason than to have some girl time and maybe get some inspiration. If you shop at Home Goods, you know that things come and go and are not stocked in bulk so when I saw this rug I knew that I had to have it since I have been looking for some time without jumping on it.

I immediately got that pit in my stomach that says, “You know you shouldn’t buy a rug right now…” And then I heard another voice say, ” You know that if you don’t get it, you’ll kick yourself if it’s gone later…” That second voice actually came from my mom. haha. I’m usually a “overthinker” and tend to miss out due to my over thinking but not this time.

This is what our living room looked like with our old rug. I’ve been slowly transitioning our room. We had cream/beige colored furniture and we had gone into gray tones when we replaced it. From there, we replaced our burlap curtains with lighter ones leaving the only thing left to be replaced at some point was our rug. Our old rug really didn’t go with all of the changes we had made and it was a bit too small for the space.

Our room is much lighter and brighter now and definitely more cohesive with the furniture.

I’m really liking the changes. It makes me want to dance!

What do you all think? Do you like it?
