Pillow Talk

Somebody stop me!!! Have you ever made a change to a room and suddenly things start to snowball from there?

I recently changed our rug in our living room and really liked the changes but suddenly didn’t like the pillows. I have a bit of an addiction to pillows. I love the coziness of pillows tossed around a room. Just ask My Guy how much he enjoys “unloading” all of the pillows off of our bed just so we can go to sleep at night. haha To my defense, there could be worse addictions.

Back to the story on hand. I wanted to add some texture to our room. Since I decorate in mostly neutral colors, texture is a must. I knew that I wanted something with some nubby texture in a creamy color but chunky pillows can be pricey and since we just spent money on a new rug, I needed to get creative and find something budget friendly.

I found these!!!! Well, sort of…These were made from bath rugs from the Better Homes and Garden line at Walmart.

They are sooooo soft and chunky. I promise, they don’t feel like a bath rug, I love the nubby texture and the fringed edges. They were so easy to make too.

I sewed a piece of fabric that I had  to the back of the rug and stuffed it with a queen size pillow and sewed up the edge.

It fit perfectly! For the smaller ones, I sewed three of the sides and stuffed it with a pillow insert and sewed up the fourth edge.

It was that easy! I’m not much of a sewer but I can handle straight lines. haha

What do you think?

If you haven’t checked out the Better Homes and Garden line at Walmart, you should. They have really upped their game as far as style and quality. I’ve been super impressed.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Love ya!
