Green With Envy

Hello, hello…Happy March! Can you believe that we’re already into a new month? I’m loving it! This is the time of year when everything starts waking up and the outdoors start to look a bit more green. I want to start planting flowers but I know it’s way too soon here. To hold me over, I like to add a touch of green to the inside of my house.

Over the years, I have been slowly but surely painting my house in neutral colors so it’s easy to change up the color scheme throughout the year.

Years ago, we bought a very old house that had beige walls and harvest gold shag carpeting although it was so old that it was more like gold mat carpeting. We repainted the walls and replaced the flooring but our color choices were bland.

When we built our current home sixteen years ago, I decided that I wanted to go bright and airy with the color palette. It was a horrible choice although quite trendy back then. When standing in the hallway, you could see all the colors of the different rooms. It was like standing inside of a box of crayons.

I have since learned my lesson and prefer to have neutral walls and add pops of color whenever I need a change.

Pops of green here and there bring the outside in.

I hope the flowers are starting to peek through wherever you are. Next week I’ll be coming at you with a simple St. Patrick’s Day tablescape.

Thanks for stopping by!
