Herb Garden

Hello Everyone! I’m hoping that by the time you are reading this, you are covered in sunshine and warm weather! So many of you have been dealing with the never-ending snow this year. I’m not sure what’s going on but it seems like we really have to work for spring this year. The weather has been so up and back. Last week, I shared a project that My Guy and I did in just that kind of up and back weather. If you didn’t see it, you can catch it (here.)

Of course, on the nice days we get anxious to get outside and play in the dirt only to drag our plants back inside due to yet another freeze warning. I did however buy some more herbs to add to our herb garden. They don’t seem to mind the colder weather.

(Basil, rosemary, oregano and lemon balm)

I’ve been trying to establish this garden for a couple of years now. Some of the herbs make it and others not so much. I’ve been trying to enrich the soil which needed a lot of help.

Also, these monkeys don’t help in the matter as they like to dig in the dirt to find a cool spot to lay.

Only the strong survive around here.

(This is parsley that came back from last year.)

I’m hoping to have it completely filled with herbs over time.

I’ve been enjoying using fresh herbs when cooking as opposed to dried ones.

I’ve also enjoyed freezing some herbs like lemon balm, mint, lavender and rosemary in ice cubes to add to water for a fresh herbal taste.

Do you like to garden? What are your favorite things to grow? The season is just beginning and I can’t wait to plant some more. I’ll post an update later letting you know how the garden is going unless of course it’s a total failure, then we’ll pretend this post never existed. haha

Sending you all sunshine vibes!
