May Day, May Day

Here it is and there it goes…May is one of those months that sneak up on me and then doesn’t stop until you just can’t eat one more piece of cake…confused? Let me explain. In my family, May is the month to celebrate. It starts with my oldest son’s birthday the first week followed by my birthday, Mother’s Day, my Dad’s birthday, my youngest son’s girlfriend’s birthday, my Mom’s birthday and last but not least, Memorial Day. Needless to say, we party pretty much the whole month of May. I’m not complaining because, well, there’s cake and more cake.

One of my sons surprised me with a homemade birthday cake this year. I don’t think I’ve had a homemade cake since I was a little girl! It was so thoughtful and so delicious!

Also, I love getting everyone together to celebrate.

This past week we celebrated my Dad’s 80th birthday and my Mom’s 75th birthday. What a treat! I love their zest for life!

We also celebrated Memorial Day. The older I get, the more patriotic I get.

I love decking our house out in red, white and blue.

To me, Memorial Day also marks the first day of summer. I’m ready to pull out our summer decor and think about lazy days and cold drinks, cook out’s and crickets chirping, watermelon and NO CAKE! haha

Wishing you all the start of a very relaxing and enjoyable summer!
