Weekend Warriors

Hello Friends! How’s life treating you? I have to admit, we’ve been in a tail spin around here but I’m not complaining. That’s just how life goes. That being said, sometimes it’s just good to go where life takes you. Recently it took me on an outing with some of my family.

It had been raining here in North Carolina for about a week straight. It’s been quite hot for this time of year and very humid. It’s the kind of weather where you really can’t do anything outside….no gardening, no grass cutting, no yard saling….unless of course you’re us.

My daughter in law and oldest son decided that they would like to join my husband and I on our weekly yard sale adventures, only we didn’t think that we were even going to go due to the weather. Certainly there wouldn’t be any sales since it was pouring rain that day and certainly no one would be crazy enough to venture out in the weather…unless of course you’re us.

Coffee cups in hand, we loaded into our truck bright and early to see what kind of crazy people were out there. Do you know what? We were not alone! There were actually several people having sales and many people out there scouting them out. I couldn’t believe how many people were actually out and about. I loved it!

We ran from sale to sale dodging the raindrops and meandering through the tightly packed garages. We didn’t hit as many sales as we would have if the weather was nicer but I had the best time. My son, daughter in law and husband kept me in stitches and I really enjoyed the company. I also really enjoyed seeing what everyone picked out.

As for me, I found a few things for the shop and this vintage wooden crate that I might just keep for myself… at least for a bit.

I love the old label on the side. It seems to be a shipping label from the army.

The best thing I found was a wonderful way to spend a rainy Saturday with some of the people I love most!

I hope we do it again soon!

Wishing you all the best rainy days!!!
