Take The Bench

Hey Friends! How was your Valentine’s Day? I hope everyone felt loved yesterday and everyday!!!

I’m back today with a little make over…on the cheap of course. If you read my post awhile back  where I said that if you want to take a good look at a room in your home, take a picture of it and dissect it. It’s funny the things that you don’t notice on a day to day basis but it sticks out in a photo. I was referring to my curtains in that particular post but it also led me to want to change other things in my home.

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen a picture of my foyer. I have a bench that sits near my front door. It’s great for sitting while putting your shoes on or plopping your purse down when you come in the door. It actually gets a lot of use in our home. This bench has seen many make overs. The last one being a lovely burlap cover because apparently I was going through my raised in a barn look. I’m kidding…I like burlap and have used in different places in our home but I am getting a little tired of the look. Also, the bench was getting tired looking too. That fabric wasn’t holding up to our use. I needed something a little thicker and sturdier.

So one day while browsing my local Walmart I found this beautiful rug! It was thick, and woven and soft and had all the right colors. Did I mention that it was also pretty inexpensive? It was less than $13!

I attached the rug by folding it over the bench top and used a staple gun to adhere it. It was super easy. I screwed the bench top back to the base and called it a day.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!!! What do you think?

I’m pretty sure this will hold up for awhile or at least until I’m ready for a change again.

Leave a comment below telling me about some of your make overs on the cheap! I would love to hear about them!
