Looking Back To Look Forward

Hello and Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a fantastic New Year! I enjoyed our holidays so much! I couldn’t help but to look back and reflect on our year. So much has happened this year which makes me so appreciative of time spent with family and friends.

I like to look back on some of the projects that I did throughout the year. It makes me feel less like a slug during the moments when I’m feeling unproductive. Lol

I had several painting projects throughout the year such as our foyer dresser,

our side porch table,

some wooden corbels

and some painting projects for the shop.

We also installed a wooden front door,

a large porch window

and a beautiful vintage chandelier that I found on Buy, Sell, Trade for a steal!

We remodeled a thrift store coffee table

and gave a face lift to a yard sale hook for our front foyer.

I spent quite a bit of time planting our herb garden

and enjoying our flowers.

I created some faux topiaries,

did a little organizing

and even met Marian from Miss Mustard Seed! She is soooo nice and super talented!

To round out our year besides projects, we celebrated our oldest son’s graduation in getting his PhD in Entomology. (We couldn’t be more proud of him!)

We’ve had family get togethers any chance we could. We’ve mourned the loss of loved ones, had some heartbreaks and had moments of joy in which we felt like our hearts would burst. We’ve worked hard and had some moments when you feel like it’s all for nothing. Then something wonderful happens to make you realize that you shouldn’t give up, like when a large Instagram account that you follow, shares your tiny account and you wake up to triple the followers (and friends) that you had before.

All of this makes me look forward to 2019 with renewed hope and big dreams. I also go into this year with so much gratitude for all of you who stop by my blog and Instagram. It means so much to me. My goals for this year is to be more present and recognize when I’m going through life on autopilot. I would like to show myself more grace when I feel like I’ve disappointed myself and lastly to start living life without so much fear, perhaps taking the chance on some long awaited dreams.

I have so many projects and ideas that I hope to share with you this year. I also look forward to hearing from you all and getting to know you all better.

How does your 2019 look? Leave me a word or two on what you hope your new year will be like.

Thanks for stopping by…something tells me that this is going to be a great year!
